Conservator working on a Marianne North Painting
|
Marianne North was an English naturalist and painter born in 1830 who travelled the world painting its flora. The Marianne North Gallery opened in Kew Gardens in 1882 and until recently all 832 of her botanical paintings could be seen displayed there. The Gallery is being repaired and in the meantime the paintings are undergoing conservation treatment at Kew Gardens. The Pilgrim Trust has given a grant towards the conservation of the paintings. |
