First Anniversary of The Pilgrim Trust Conservation Grant Scheme
The Pilgrim Trust Conservation Grant Scheme has had a successful first year. The Association of Independent Museums is reviewing applications for the next round of grants the outcome of which will be announced in December 2008.
In 2007 The Pilgrim Trust made a grant of over £300,000 to the Association of Independent Museums. It was felt that the dearth of funds for conservation within small museums was having a negative impact on the access to collections. The three-year grant scheme was conceived to help small museums with the conservation of objects in their collections and was welcomed by the Department of Culture, Media and Sports. Eleven grants were made last year totaling over £51,000. Applications for grants are administered by the Association of Independent Museums. More information
